Lost in the Blue

I have been in the midst of traveling between home and out of town because RL has needed a lot of my attention and will continue to for the foreseen future but when I get a moment to escape into SL and throw an outfit together I will try to blog it for you. Today I bring you the blues, well a shade of blue, tranquil, maybe a little sad, but calm and sedate. The dress is from Glam Affair and is available at Uber's rustic round. The sandals from Fri.day worked out very well although I did edit them a tad darker to compliment the dress more, love the fact these work with my Maitreya feet. I added the cuff from MUKA and it's edited as well from the blue setting on the hud to more closely match the dress. I really like this newer hair from Vanity, it's a pretty updo with a couple of loose whisps to make it not be too stiff and severe. I am sorry I am not more descriptive but I am pressed for time and this lovely dress almost speaks for itself.

Color Me Project Silver

Real Life has been kicking my ass busy wise, but I didn't want to let Color Me Project get away without a couple of posts! The color this round is silver and there are lots of goodies to be had! Exclusives and discounts galore in silver. I put this outfit together and thought it felt very much like I would probably own a vineyard so of course I would need to test each vintage. That's what I did with the great Champagne poses from IOS that are available at CMP. The top, necklace and shoes are ALL from CMP and you have to get them! The shoes from VG look amazing and not too "shiny" silver. The necklace from Persefona is lovely and chunky and makes a great statement. The top from Immerschoen even comes with bonus system layer pants! Get over to CMP! NOW!

Uber Time

I stated in my previous post I had just got back in town and of course I headed to Uber as soon as I could! The nice thing about being late to the party was no waiting to get in! I went saying do not buy more than you really need! That didn't last long, and I am already thinking oh I need to go and get this or that in more colors! The Olive hair is my new favorite hair and I will be sporting this for a long time I think in my day to day look, it's just super adorable. The cargo pants, LOVE and they make my ass look great! Shoes from Eudora are dressy casual so they paired really well with the cargo pants and my necklace and bracelets also from my Uber shopping spree. The top is from Maitreya and made to just throw on with my Lara mesh body. I am one happy camper when it comes to my Uber purchases and you will be too if you haven't been yet, go go go! There is no line!

Waiting for Inspiration

Blogging is a lot of fun, I love putting outfits together, trying styles, especially when it's something I want to try in RL but don't want to spend the money on until I know I would really like it, Many times my SL outfits get recreated in RL and vice versa. I am an artist in RL so my SL home has a studio in it as well because if makes me feel at home and brings a little piece of me into SL. Sitting in it waiting for inspiration or for someone to come home is comforting, relaxing. It's my safe place. We all need a safe place where we can just let everything go and just be, just sit and let the stresses fade and the inspirations come. To do this is comfort is key, This outfit is so comfortable just easy and relaxed. Cardigan, tee, denim shorts, a scarf because it's still a little nippy, broken in boots, ponytail in case the inspiration hits and I get to work, So my advice to anyone is RL or SL make sure you have a place that is your safety zone, where you always feel at ease and can regroup, become inspired or just plain relax.

Complimentary Color

Black is usually my go to color in my SL and RL wardrobe, maybe because it's easy to work with, some roots I have in NYC so I got used to wearing it or I just like it, whatever the reason though to step outside that comfort zone is easy it just doesn't happen often. So what happened that made me step away from that norm? It was pretty simple, a friend of mine, Alecat Breda of N4RS  was nominated for 3  awards at the SL Adult Industry Awards (2 of which he won! Congrats hon!). Ale's partner and mine were both busy in RL so he asked me to accompany him. I asked what I should wear and being the creative soul that he is, he said green because it compliments your red hair. As a RL art educator (and red head) I know a lot about color theory and green being the complimentary color to red it does look good on a red head, so I went with it. The invitation said "sexy/formal" but I also wanted classy so after some serious hit and misses and a lot of time on marketplace I ran across this Topazia dress. I was unsure at first but once I put it on, adjusted my Maitreya mesh body for it and chose hair I was in love with it. Sexy, formal yet still classy. Everything I wanted and then some. The addition of some nice jewelry and I was set. It was a great event, I felt confident and was so happy to be able to celebrate an amazing creator and friend. Congrats Ale on your awards and thank you for a lovely evening!

More Shiny Shabby

I have some more Shiny Shabby for you! So much good stuff there! So this outfit is by Reverie, the Honey Pie Tied-up shirt and skirt are really pretty. The skirt and shirt come in multiple colors but I tend to settle on the neutrals more than the colors but I admit I had a hard time deciding between the red and the brown skirt. I like the skirt well enough I may go back and get the red one as well. I rarely get a chance to wear this Maitreya hat/hair combo so I was excited I got to use it for this shoot. I didn't do much to this outfit other than add one of my Maxi Gossamer necklaces that has a vintage feel to it, and the ieQED rings from the Shiny Shabby event. The setting uses {anc} print roll screen that I seriously love, you can't see all of it in this photo but go check it out, you will love it too. The glass bottle and drape are from the 22769 decorating pack and the painting, one of my favorite items from the Shiny Shabby event, comes with the awesome N4RS Siena set. I will probably be visiting the event again, I tried to have some restraint the first time around I am slowly losing my resolve had controlling my purchases!

Just Wait.

 Waiting, sometimes it's actually a good thing, allows you to gain perspective, build anticipation of what's to come and creates an excitement that immediate gratification doesn't allow. Sometime's it feels like an eternity, nothing will change and all will be lost. I constantly try to stay with the more optimistic version of waiting although I can be guilty of being impatient. I wait for event to open counting the hours until I can see the newest and brightest offerings SL's amazing creators come up with. I spend way to many Lindens on things I may or may not wear or use just because artistically I so appreciate the work they have put in to something and how it shows in the detail and the care that in which it was made. I try to be more selective these days but it's hard, still I have slowed down buying every gorgeous gown or dress since I am really a jeans and sweater kind of girl. This outfit I would wear in RL and would probably be a go to on a regular basis. Simple, easy and comfortable but stylish. I picked up the Pure Poison Amy flats at Kustom9 along with my new favorite pair of jeans from Fishy Strawberry.  The jacket and shirt is a combo from Cold Logic and normally has stuff a little too tame for me but when I mix and match I find somethings I really like, again, well made trumps almost everything and I have not even been disappointed with any of these designers. I have other things in my life I am having to wait on right now, so I guess I am being a little reflective, it's hard to wait, especially when you have no control over it, it can get depressing, but optimism is a sweet gift to those that have to wait, so now that I have hit up a lot of the current events, I will wait for the next round of events, optimistic that it will be worth the wait!

Vintage Flair from Gizza

I dropped by the Chapter Four event today and wasn't expecting to purchase anything as I have been trying to not spend so much on clothes, shoes and builds but once again my willpower took a hike. I couldn't resist the "Colette" sweater and skirt ensemble from Gizza it had such a cool vintage vibe to it, dress it up with heels and gloves for "Mad Men" style shopping excursion or with flat boots and tights for a retro beatnik look that would have you ready for poetry night in a coffee house. The outfit is impeccably made just as all of Gizza's items are and I love the fact I can wear it with my Maitreya Mesh body and the sassy beret it comes with makes me a happy girls because I love when I designer sees a total look and creates it so well. The skin is Glam Affair and another great find at Chapter Four! Cute short hair from elua and accessories from Swallow make me a girl about town ready to put a dent in the shopping economy!

Frida

Gizza introduced an homage to Frida Khalo and it's all over the feeds, not to be left out I created my own version of salute to the beautiful artist. As a real life art educator I just love when creators in SL take inspiration from well known artists, I think it furthers our appreciation and education in the arts and the artist work. I paired the Gizza top, headpiece and bouquet with Junbug gatcha flowing skirt in olive, the hair is from Leltuka and the Lazuri jewelry I loved because I could customize the colors to be many and varied. The home accessories are from Zinnia and the structure is Cheeky Pea's Sweetwater outdoor room. Look up Khalo's work, read about her, she was an amazing woman and artist. I am glad Gizza chose to celebrate her.

Time to Take a Rid

There is a smart and extremely talented lady in SL named Elysium Eilde who is the creator of Elymode. I have known her almost as long as I have been in SL. I have always admired and appreciated her talent and generosity, her skills are many as well as her attributes. You are probably wondering what does that have to do with this post, but well it has everything to do with it because that well made riding crop and the cool poses you see in these photos, both made by her and both extremely well made. That’s what happens you when ooze skill and vision. You make good stuff.  I had a lot of fun shooting these photos; my normal personality is not large and in charge but dressing up and playing the part for photos is something that is definitely right up my alley. When this riding crop arrived in my inventory I knew immediately exactly what to wear, and where I wanted to shoot it. The crop itself is made so very well. All the way down to the details and textures. You can see a close up view of just the crop here and it’s a nice piece of equipment all on its own but that wasn’t enough for Ely, nope, she went and made some great poses to go with it, 7 in all, so photographers can cheer a prop and poses that work perfectly with it! There is a crop for each hand so you don’t have to edit it back and forth, and mirror poses included (with a little editing of the crop placement I was able to use the mirror pose and get the behind my back look).  Thank you Ely for the welcome addition to my inventory! There are just some things a girl wants to ride hard and a crop can come in handy ;-)

The outfit, all latex and very sexy makes it appear I know what to do with that riding crop. Lots of details from the studs and seams on the Sassy halter, to the lace up back on  {{ICLy}}  skirt,  show off the attention to detail and quality. The boots and gloves by Donima’s Duo are so well made I want to find more things to wear them with and come with an amazing hud so I can create ALL the colors I want! I am wearing my Maitreya Lara mesh body which I am really enjoying, I will create another post and fill you in on all the reasons I like it so much soon but for now suffice it to say yes you can wear a lot of things with the mesh body if you are willing to edit and buy quality mesh clothing. Lelutka Summer

So you all know Lelutka summer releases are out and I like everyone else had to go and check it out. There are some really great things and I picked up a few items that I will end up blogging in the next few days, (one will be some of the jewelry, YAY for customization!) One thing you should know about me is I LOVE LOVE LOVE black. It will be the first color i buy in most anything. It's just classic and I love it. I try very hard to buy other colors too but it's my tried and true fall back habit. So the first thing I have to share is of course black. I saw these IBIS pants and immediately fell in love! The flowers on the waist, the stripes, the skinny fit *sighs*. What to wear with them, need shoes, and well thankfully the new Letluka St. Tropez slingbacks are perf! I love them a lot and bought the fatpack, so you are gonna be sick of them soon. Next, COCO's white broadcloth shirt, check. Needs a bit more, so I add SMS blouse over the the shirt and I have sort of a modern pirate vibe going on, Paper Couture Jewelry I bought off of xstreet and I am a happy girl!

Shopping Day

Well it all starts with wanting a cute outfit for this top that I had in my inventory for a while now. I found the shorts in my inventory and was like YAY! off to a great start and then hit a roadblock with shoes. I went through my inventory and tried on all my sandals and flats and nothing worked, then I recalled these from Maitreya, so I rushed over picked them up and viola! Perfection! Now jewelry after a preliminary search of xstreetsl I am hooked up with bangles and earrings. I complain to Neko I need hair and thanks to him for pointing out the hair creator, sorry I got the same one as you babe ;p. I grabbed a purse because this was a heavy shopping day and needed something to carry around my linden clothing allowance of, throw on some sunglasses because it's a sunny day here and I am ready to shop til I drop! I love this hair and the fact it is FREE is a bonus! Sure it's suppose to be guy hair but if it works then why not! I have tons of "guy" things in my inventory that work great for us girls too. Stay alert and open minded and you will find a treasure of two in the men's department ladies! Now if I could only find something to go with those shoes I have had forever...
